Notice of Public Submission - Public consultation on ICS-related ComFrame standards

Audience: All Full Member Associations (Council Delegates and Correspondents)

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) has published for consultation on the development of ComFrame material for ICS-related standards. The consultation includes material and questions on three elements of the ComFrame - ICS supervisory reporting (ICP CF 9.4); ICS public disclosure (ICP CF 20.10) and a new paragraph 47 of ComFrame Assessment Methodology. The IAA intends to submit a formal response to this consultation. The Insurance Regulation Committee (IRC) will be responsible for formulating the response to this, in accordance with the requirements of the IAA Due Process for Making a Public Statements.

All members and observers of the IRC will be requested to provide input to the response. The developing drafts and the final response will be shared with the IRC. Please ensure that your association’s input is provided via your representatives in the IRC. 

If your association does not have a member or an observer in the IRC, you may nominate an observer to the drafting group to review the developing response. We request you to contact Amali Seneviratne (Director Technical Activities) as soon as possible, but no later than 20 January 2026 if your association wishes to nominate an observer.  Please note that this will be your only opportunity to influence the development of the response, as it will not be circulated outside the IRC.

The final response will be submitted to the IAIS on or before 5 February 2026, subject to approval by IRC members.

Council Meeting – Draft Minutes Now Available

Audience: All Full Member Associations (Council Delegates and Correspondents)

The draft Council minutes from the 23 November meeting are now available online. These will be presented for approval at the next Council meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 12 May 2026.

Important Deadlines – Exposure Drafts Open for Comment

1. Exposure Draft of Proposed IAN 200 on the Application of IFRS S2 Climate Related Disclosures (17 October 2025 - 17 January 2026)

Please see the memorandum from Rade Musulin, Chair - Climate and Sustainability Committee (CSC), regarding the exposure draft of the proposed International Actuarial Note 200 on the application of IFRS S2 Climate Related Disclosures (IAN 200).

The deadline to comment on this exposure draft is 17 January 2026.

Please follow the instructions in the transmittal memorandum and use the comment template to submit comments.

2. Exposure Draft of Proposed Revisions to ISAP 1 - General Actuarial Practice (18 September 2025 - 18 January 2026)

Please see the transmittal memorandum from Greg Martin, Chair, Actuarial Standards Committee (ASC), regarding the exposure draft of proposed revisions to the International Standard of Actuarial Practice 1 (ISAP 1) on General Actuarial Practice, and the associated glossary.

The deadline to submit comments is 18 January 2026.

2026 Fees and New IAA Banking Details

A friendly reminder that Full membership fees are payable by January 31, 2026.

Please also note that fee payments must be submitted to the IAA’s new bank, the Royal Bank of Canada, as per the instructions provided with your association’s fee invoice.
