Young Actuaries World Cup 2026

Audience: All

The Young Actuaries World Cup is officially underway, and we need your help to ensure your association is represented!

How can you contribute? Share this opportunity with your young actuaries and encourage them to showcase their ideas.

Key Competition Guidelines:

• Age Requirement: Must be 35 years old or younger (born on or after November 14, 1991).
• Membership: Must be a member of an IAA Full or Associate Member organization.
• Participation: Individual entries only—team submissions are not allowed.
• Submission: Create and submit a 5-minute video presenting an idea on the theme: “Tradition, Diversity, Innovation.”
• Language: The competition will be conducted in English.

New Document: Volunteer Conduct Guidelines

Audience: ALL

The IAA is introducing conduct guidelines for all volunteers and event participants, expanding beyond the existing rules for leaders only. These guidelines will establish clear behavioral expectations aligned with IAA values, provide a framework for addressing inappropriate conduct, and strengthen the IAA’s commitment to maintaining a respectful environment for everyone involved. The guidelines can be viewed here.

Voting Results of Council Electronic Ballot (CEB2025-02)

Audience: Council Delegates, Correspondents, Executive Committee, Chief Staff Officers

We are pleased to inform you that the motions below submitted to Council through an electronic ballot on February 19, 2025 (closed on March 21), have now been approved. To view the voting results, please click here.

1. Motion 1: That Council ratify the appointments to the Climate and Sustainability Committee approved by the Executive Committee as indicated in the cover note.
2. Motion 2: That, on the recommendation of the Membership Committee, Council admit the Institut Luxembourgeois des Actuaires as a Full Member effective immediately.
3. Motion 3: That Council ratify the Executive Committee’s decision to merge the Advice and Assistance and Membership Committees into the Membership Assistance Committee and approve its terms of reference and initial leadership as presented.

Notice of Public Submission - IAIS Public consultation on draft Issues Paper on structural shifts in the life insurance sector 

Audience: Council Delegates and Presidents of Member Associations

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) has published for a draft Issues Paper on structural shifts in the life insurance sector. For more details, please click here.  Comments are invited by Monday, 19 May 2025.  

The IAA intends to submit a formal response to this consultation. The Insurance Regulation Committee (IRC) will be responsible for formulating the response to this.  The response will be developed in accordance with the requirements of the IAA Due Process for Making a Public Statements.  

All members and observers of the IRC will be requested to provide input to the response. The developing drafts and the final response will be shared with the IRC. Please ensure that your association’s input is provided via your representatives in the IRC.   

If your association does not have a member or an observer in the IRC, you may nominate an observer to the drafting group to review the developing response. We request you to contact Amali Seneviratne (Director Technical Activities) at the IAA Secretariat as soon as possible, but no later than 4 April 2025 if your association wishes to nominate an observer.  Please note that this will be your only opportunity to influence the development of the response, as it will not be circulated outside the IRC.  

The final response will be submitted to the IAIS on or before 19 May 2025, subject to approval by IRC members.
